Diwakar Aryal is a distinguished graduate in Journalism and Mass Communication from Tribhuvan University and holds a Master’s Degree in Political Science from the same institution. Over the years, he has emerged as a global youth leader, presenter, and speaker, representing Nepal in various national and international events across countries such as Australia, Spain, UAE, South Korea, Singapore, Germany, Taiwan, the Philippines, Thailand, France, Egypt, Sri Lanka, Austria, Malaysia, Bangladesh, Luxembourg, India, Oman, Kenya, and the USA.
Aryal is the founder and chairperson of the Global Youth Parliament, an organization that unites youth from 86 countries to promote leadership, democracy, peace, and social impact. He also served as an advisor at Arizona State University, USA, from 2020, contributing to youth engagement initiatives. As a researcher and creative activist, many of his articles have been published in national and international journals. Aryal has authored two notable books: Yuwa Darshan (2013) and Raising Wave of Impact (2024).
His outstanding contributions have earned him numerous accolades, including the Nelson Mandela Global Leadership Award (Syria), Global Change Makers Award (Bangladesh), NAGA Award (Thailand), Samaj Sewa Ratna 2079 (Government of Nepal), National Youth Talent Award 2080 (Ministry of Youth and Sports, Nepal), National Social Impact Award 2080 (Reporters Club Nepal), and the Global Change Maker Award 2019 (Global Law Thinker Society, Bangladesh).
Born into a modest family in a rural village of Nepal, Aryal’s journey from an underprivileged background to becoming a global youth leader has been one of resilience and determination. Growing up in a Least Developed Country (LDC), he faced days of hunger and sleepless nights, but his unwavering hope and dreams of transforming society propelled him forward.
Aryal began his journey by founding Youth Parliament Nepal, organizing over 10 international conferences that gathered 2,000 youths to discuss global issues. Its success inspired him to expand this initiative globally, leading to the creation of the Global Youth Parliament, an institution that raises voices on global challenges, including democracy building in conflict zones, constitutional processes in Nepal, and empowering youth from LDCs.
Under his leadership, GYP has become a sui generis model for fostering global peace and accountability through youth-driven initiatives. For his dedicated service, Aryal was honored with the Samaj Sewa Ratna – Presidential Award and the National Youth Talent Award by the Government of Nepal. His work inspires countless youths to join hands and contribute to building a better world, demonstrating that a single voice, when amplified through a supportive platform, can drive significant change.
